The Wichita Area Library Association would like to invite all library staff who may be new to the area, to the library world or to the profession to join us for a networking event. This is an opportunity to “meet and greet” and to get to know WALA members and learn more about WALA. You don’t need to be a member of WALA to attend!

The Spring Symposium is just around the corner and we would love to see you there! This year’s focus is on leadership and we have some great presentations lined up. This year’s presenters are Brad Allen from Lawrence Public Library, Amy Nichols from the Kansas Leadership Center, and we will also have a panel discussion of area librarians who have attended MPLA’s Leadership Institute.
This is a free event and will be from 12:30 to 4:00 at the USD 259 School Service Center. We do ask that you register by contacting Eric Gustafson (eric@derbylibrary.com)

Looking for something to do on a cold winter evening? Why not join us for the annual WALA library tour! This year we are headed to Andover. We’ll meet up for dinner at 5:30 at the Poplar Restaurant, 127 U.S. 54, Andover, KS 67002 and then head over to Andover Public Library for a 7:00 pm tour.
